I took some cute photos recently…
Huh?
Me funny…
It’s fun to be in the high chair
O Captain My Captain…
This is my messy, but happy cereal eater…
That is the first time I heard of a baby falling asleep eating cereal (he falls asleep for bottles all the time, but this was way funnier). Basically, he fell asleep mid-bite. Silly boy.
Uncle Dave was staying with us like forever…but he brought his daughter Maddie for the weekend, so that made up for it. Just teasing Dave, we loved having you here…you are welcome anytime!
I have always been a mom, but I officially became a parent the day we took Maddie and Avery to Chuck E Cheese’s…eekk
We did have fun though.
As I have said in the past, he falls asleep in the cutest positions…
I don’t know how well this one will come out, but when he sleeps now, he sleeps on his side. In this one though, he had his foot sticking out of the bars of his crib. I couldn’t resist the photo op.
And here is my son bein’ a ham…
While I get ready in the morning, he sits in the middle of the bed “practicing” sitting. He is very good at sitting up on his own, he just needs to work on catching himself when he flings backwards. So he practices while on the bed so he doesn’t break his little head. He loves to play!
The last one is him trying to crawl. He gets his knees and arms up under himself and rocks back and forth trying to figure out what the next ’step’ is.
All of these pictures were taken in the last week or so. I got a new computer (thanks to the government reimbursing us for taking too much of our money…) and the rest of the photos are on the old computer. I haven’t gotten around to moving them over too.
As of today, our little bundle of joy is SIX MONTHS and one day old!!! How did that happen? We had a doctor’s appointment yesterday and he is:
15 pounds, 5 ounces
26 1/4 inches tall…
Ironically the little boy who they thought was going to come out weighing 13 pounds, came out at 8-8 and now he is measuring smaller than most of the population. Dr C told me that that is just because he takes after me (and our big short family – except you Uncle Dan) and he is perfectly healthy. He is progressing exactly where he should be, he is just doing it closer to the ground (AKA shorter). He is next to me in his excersaucer bouncing and squealing away.
Yesterday, we also had another new thing…Avery got his 6 month shots. He was SO good. The first two he just sat there and looked around, he didn’t flinch or let out a peep. The second set, he got this sad little face on and squealed (not the fun way) for about 5 seconds and then was fine. After we got home though, he started getting very fussy. He was on his back on his blanket on the floor and opened his mouth to cry and I saw something…I believe he is getting his first tooth!!! There is a definite bump, a low fever, he is drooling like crazy and NOT the happy little boy we know and love (we do still love him though). It’s on the top right and we will see in the next few days what happens. This may be a very loud trip to St. Louis, just fair warning for those of you who are putting us up.
Other tidbits…
He has started to put his binky back in when it comes out. He has been doing this for a while, but only now will he pick it up and put it in his mouth. Granted, he is a baby, so it doesn’t always hit the mark. The other day, he started making these scary noises and I ran over to him (in the exersaucer) only to find that he had stuck his binky handle in his mouth (not the nipple) and it got STUCK! Scary. So we have moved up a size so that doesn’t happen again. This little boy never fails to keep his mommy on her tows.
He has been pulling hair and ripping glasses off for some time now, but he started doing something really sweet a few weeks ago. He was really sleepy and fighting it like mad and when I picked him up, normally he would have yanked on my hair, however this time, he flicked it back and forth on his hand until he fell asleep. He snuggled his face into my neck and flicked my hair. It melted my heart! He does that a lot now.
That is all I can think of for now, so I will update later.
Here’s a few more I found on the camera…
Aaargh! I miss you all so much! These are sooo cute, I can’t wait to see you! What a sweet face he has. The one where he’s kissing the puppy looks a lot like Todd when he’s ‘caught in the act!’
Love, Grandma Derr
Okay, so you’re on your way here anyway, so I’ll get to see him in a few hours…but thanks for the pic update anyway…I was starting to have withdrawals!
What a cutie!
He is getting so big. And cuter all the time. I have a feeling he’ll be mobile very soon.
